Models and Numerical methods for geometric and image processing.

The main research topics addressed by the group cover the study of numerical methods for the solution of large ill-posed inverse problems arising from the reconstruction of images and surfaces; regularization techniques based on diffusive nonlinear PDEs of the second order, Krylov-type iterative methods and convex-nonconvex variational optimization formulations; theoretical and computational aspects on Geometric PDE, as well as their applications on surface and image processing; Numerical Linear Algebra applied to PDEs; approximation of functions of large matrices; computational methods for linear matrix  equations.
